Intrigued with natural healing from a young age, I have been practicing yoga and meditation since 1995. As a way to combat stress, enhance decision making, and boost my mood, I established a daily meditation routine that has grown and evolved with each new phase of my life. Being able to embrace change while managing roadblocks is something that meditation has given me the ability to do.
With ambitions of sharing this approach to life, I began my career in mindfulness and healing in 2003 as a massage therapist and bodyworker. Soon after, I began teaching meditation to massage therapy students, many of whom shared that it not only helped them to become more effective healers, but better focused and proficient students. I knew I was on to something…
My career has taken me many places, but through it all I’ve maintained a strong meditation practice. After surviving 5 years of the hustle, bustle, and stress of executive work, I knew that the corporate world was not for me. I decided to work for myself sharing the meditation tools and techniques that have helped me throughout the years. When I am not at SFM, you can find me teaching meditation classes at Henry Ford Health Systems Center for Integrative Medicine.
I received my Master’s of Art in Organizational Leadership and hold a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Massage Therapy, both from Siena Heights University. Currently, I am completing my certificate as a Meditation Instructor from the American Institute of Health Care Professionals.
I believe that the mind has the ability to spark healing from the inside, often in ways that therapy or medicine cannot (although they can be an effective form of treatment). Mindfulness is an innate ability that everyone has the potential to master but many people do not know how. My hope is that people everywhere learn how to meditate and be more mindful in their everyday lives because life can and should be fun!
Thank you for joining me on this journey and sharing your practice with me. I am excited to explore and share all the possibilities that mindfulness has to offer. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. I look forward to learning with you!
Peacefully Yours,
Erin
